Rodney W. Byrnes

Vice President, Real Estate Development

Rodney, who joined SCP in March 2009, is Vice President of Real Estate Development for the Strategic Partners Urban Fund and works from the Indianapolis office.  His primary focus is urban development projects and is currently structuring a partnership with Purpose Built Communities to holistically redevelop blighted urban neighborhoods across the U.S.

Prior to SCP, Rodney served as Director of Environmental Sustainability and Corporate Relations at Allegiant Global Services in Indianapolis.  At Allegiant, he created a partnership with Johnson Controls for the development of up to $1 billion in renewable energy projects.  He also worked with PepsiCo and Campbell's Soup on environmental reporting and renewable generation projects.

In the fall of 2006, Rodney teamed up with the founders of Meridian Real Estate Services in Indianapolis, to form Crimson Commercial Group.  CCG, a minority business enterprise, offers a broad spectrum of commercial real estate brokerage services.  While at Crimson, Rodney represented clients such as the City of Indianapolis and the United States Postal Service and signed $50+ million in commercial leases.

These experiences exposed Rodney to all facets of commercial real estate and financial management, including state-of-the-art, mixed-use development, office and medical leasing, financial analysis and sustainable environmental services.

Rodney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard University.  He was also a wide receiver for the varsity football team for four seasons, two of which resulted in Ivy League Championships.

Rodney is a member of the Board of Trustees for Mother Theodore Catholic Academies and the Harvard Club of Indiana.  He is also an Indiana Licensed Real Estate Salesperson and is currently pursuing a LEED AP designation.
