Rick Hurd is President of Strategic Capital Partners, LLC. Rick’s primary responsibilities at SCP include overseeing the acquisition team, setting investment strategy, lender relationships and fundraising.

Prior to founding SCP, Rick was a Managing Director in GE Real Estate’s North American Equity Group. From 1996 to 2005, Rick invested over $800 million of equity in various real estate transactions with a total capitalization of approximately $2 billion. From 1993 to 1996, Rick was responsible for the private placement of debt securities and the acquisition of non-performing loans. Rick joined GE Real Estate in 1988 and spent the next five years in London establishing GE Real Estate’s presence in Europe.

Rick has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University and received his M.B.A. from Drexel University.

Rick is a member of the Board of Directors and head of the Development Committee for Catalyst Schools Chicago, a network of charter schools serving Chicago's west side.
