Joel joined Strategic Capital Partners in June 2005 as Assistant Vice President and Fund Controller and now is Vice President of Finance and Controller. Joel heads up all accounting and financial operations for the Company. He also oversees operations, human resources and external service providers.

Prior to joining SCP, Joel spent seven years in various positions at 40/86 Advisors, Inc. (formerly known as Conseco Capital Management). There he was responsible for preparing annual operating budgets, annual and semi-annual fund reporting, internal audits, general ledger accounting, fund sales forecasts and projections, expenses and profitability reporting. Prior to 40/86, Joel was a staff accountant at McGladrey & Pullen, where he performed various audits and accounting functions for S-corporations, C-Corporations and partnerships in a variety of industries.

Joel is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with emphasis in accounting and management and administration from Indiana University. He is also a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and the Indiana CPA Society where he is a member of their Leadership Cabinet, a demographic representation of approximately 1% of the Society's membership, which serves as a guiding coalition of leaders who provide valuable feedback to the INCPAS Board of Directors and staff on issues and trends that affect the CPA profession.
